Happy Star Wars Day!

I know that there are several movies from my childhood that I appreciate my parents introducing me to and the Star Wars movies definitely top that list. In honor of this special day, I have put together some suggestions for delicious intergalatic treats. Whether you are watching your favorite one or a marathon of them all, make sure that you have these foods packed as you begin your journey to a galaxy far far away...

Yoda's Punch:
A specialty drink is always fun and can be used to set the mood. This simple punch will be sure to please both padawans and Jedi alike. Mix ginger ale or a lemon-lime flavored beverage with lime sherbet to create this drink of choice.

Death Star:
If you are feeling a little artsy, carving this Death Star watermelon will be tons of fun. A summer treat that will be an instant hit with partygoers.

Galactic Goo with Trooper Scoopers:
This can be served with either a green goodess dip or guacamole, but I am a big guacamole girl so I would probably go with the guac. Add some scoop shaped tortilla chips and you are ready to take on the Storm Troopers.

 Han-burger and Darth Vader Taters:
Hamburgers are a crowd pleaser just like the character that you hate to love, Hans Solo. You can mix it up and dye some of the buns black for those guests that want to join the dark side. Serve with your favorite toppings and condiments. Darth Vader taters are the perfect side dish for this Han-burger, and can be whatever size and shape you like.

Light Saber Fondue:
This easy dessert will take you back to the days when playing with your food was appropriate. Challenge other guests to a duel with your "light saber", pretzels dipped in chocolate and rolled in colored sugar, usually red, green, or blue, to make them come to life. Pick your side of the "force", white or milk chocolate fondue, and use things like bananas, strawberries, marshmallows, and pound cake as dippers.

I hope you find these foods out of this world and May the fourth be with you!
