A New Classic Combinatination

So we all know that black and white is a timeless combination, but leave it to fashion to mix everything up. This fall one of the hot new color combinations is black and gold. I do have to admit that I adore this. There is just something about the sleekness of the black with the subtle shine of gold that makes something stand out without looking gaudy. I found this great pair of black and gold strappy heels from Madden Girl at DSW. The t-strap in the front is sophisticated and classy and the straps keep of modern and fresh. This is a great new twist on a pair of black heels. The gold woven in adds shine and seems to catch the light in just the right way when you wear them. I will definitely be using this a lot because they can instantly dress up an outfit. The key is to keep it simple and not introduce additional colors. So we all know about the infamous LBD (little black dress) that every woman needs to have in her closet. But what about the LBC...little black cardigan? I think that it is another essential piece that all women should have. I adore cardigans! Not only are they versatile in that they can help with temperature changes, but they are a great layering piece and can totally change the look of an outfit. I was walking through Marshalls and found this precious little cardigan. The subtle sparkle of the gold sequins gives it a dressier feel and a bit of sophistication. It is lightweight and had gold and black buttons. I already feel like this will be a great addition to my fall wardrobe. Now if only it would just start to get cooler...

Getting Glittery with It

So I decided to mix up the blog today and write about these fantastic new fall shoes I got from Target! Yes, I know it's only part way through July, but the fall clothes are already starting to make their way into the stores. It will be here before you know it and I definitely don't want to be unprepared. It probably helps that fall is one of my favorite seasons, so I am always on the lookout for what's new. Men's wear is definitely in this season, so stayed tuned for lots of men's styles with feminine touches. This shoes takes its cue from the smoking slipper, making it a modern twist on a classic men's shoe. Glitter is a hot new trend for fall as well, but it sometimes gets a bad rap and can be not so chic. This is a great way to wear the trend in a classy way. You can wear it day or night, dressed up or down. It is a go to for kicking an outfit up a notch. These can be worn with skinny jeans, a skirt, or leggings.
