No matter how many times you have been to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, there is always a surprise waiting. This time it was another sweet treat. Red velvet funnel cake. How can a funnel cake taste like red velvet? I don't know how they didn't it, but they managed to do it. The funnel cake batter is light and melts in your mouth. The cake is topped with a healthy dose of powdered sugar, whipped cream, and a strawberry drizzle. Though the whipped cream is not the cream cheese icing like is traditionally on a red velvet, it is still heavenly. I would say that's just the HLSR twist. If you still have the opportunity to visit the rodeo, be sure you stop by and give it a try. It will be a memorable dessert, I promise you that.
